A warm welcome to our Pre-School at Moggerhanger Primary School!

At Moggerhanger Primary School we are extremely proud of our Early Years setting, which comprises of Reception and Pre-School, both of which have exceptionally small class sizes. The kind and dedicated teaching staff work hard to create a warm and stimulating environment where learning is fun, and the children are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Reception and Pre-School are a fully integrated part of the school, giving your child the opportunity to benefit from an extensive range of facilities in our primary school setting, such as a large, well-equipped playground, field, Forest School area and traditional school hall. Our Pre-School and Reception each have their own connecting classroom, and are able to free-flow through both rooms and share a designated outdoor area during their child-initiated time.

Our Pre-School Leader, Mrs Gemma Smith, is a qualified NNEB Early Years practitioner. Mrs Smith will be your main point of contact throughout your child’s time in Pre-School. She will provide you with regular updates on your child’s learning via our online learning journals on Tapestry. She is available to speak with every morning and home time on the school gate, and you are also able to contact her via message on Class Dojo, our online communication platform.

Working alongside Mrs Smith, we have a team of kind, hard-working and dedicated staff who provide a safe, homely environment in which our children flourish.

Our Early Years setting benefits from having a qualified teacher in Reception class, Miss Cunningham, who will also play an active role in your child’s Pre-School experience.

Our teachers and support staff in Early Years will get to know each child as an individual, so that they can support and nurture them on their learning journey with us. Your child will be allocated a ‘Key Person’ who will work alongside you and your child to ensure that their transition into our Pre-School runs smoothly, and that their emotional needs are met.
